Abstract

This study aims to describe: 1) the skill of finding factual paragraph ideas through the technique of copying assignments using simple teaching materials; 2) the extent of suitability between the learning plan and the implementation of learning the skill of finding factual paragraph ideas through the technique of copying assignments using simple teaching materials. The study was conducted at SMP Negeri 9 Magelang at the beginning of the odd semester of 2024/2025. The population of the study was 7th grade students who took part in learning the skill of finding short paragraph ideas through the technique of copying assignments in simple teaching materials. They only came from one parallel class with a total of 26 students. The sample was set at 25 students who were drawn randomly from the population. Simple teaching materials contain teaching materials about the nature of factual paragraphs. Each paragraph about teaching materials is provided with an empty field for the implementation of the copying assignment technique. As an exercise, one short paragraph of the deductive type and one factual paragraph of the inductive type are provided. The practice questions are in the form of multiple choice questions with four options totaling 6 items for two paragraphs. Data on the skill of finding factual paragraph ideas were collected using a four-option multiple choice test instrument. Learning data were collected using observation techniques. Data on the skill of finding factual paragraph ideas were analyzed using parametric inferential statistical procedures. Learning data were analyzed thematically; the suitability between the learning plan and the implementation of learning. The results of the study: 1) the skill of finding factual paragraph ideas through the technique of copying assignment using simple teaching materials; 2) the suitability between the learning plan and the implementation of learning the skill of finding factual paragraph ideas through the technique of copying assignment using simple teaching materials was 91.00 percent.
