Abstract

This study aims to explore: 1) the procedure for using the process skills approach through innovative teaching materials in learning the placement of pantun pauses; 2) learning outcomes of using the process skills approach through innovative teaching materials in learning the placement of pantun pauses. The study was conducted at MTs Negeri 3 Kota Palu, Centre Sulawesi at the beginning of the odd semester of the 2024/2025 academic year. The population of this study were 7A grade students who took part in learning the placement of pantun pauses using the process skills approach through innovative teaching materials. There were 32 students. The sample was determined as many as 30 students who were selected randomly without replacement. The first instrument of this study was a lesson plan for placing pantun pauses using the process skills approach through innovative teaching materials. The second instrument was a performance test for placing pantun pauses. The third instrument was a performance test for placing pantun pauses. All instruments were compiled using objective and systematic procedures. Learning procedure data were analyzed thematically, without statistical analysis. Pantun pause placement data were analyzed using descriptive statistical procedures, namely mean and percentage. Research results: 1) the procedure for using the process skills approach and innovative teaching materials in learning the placement of pauses in pantun includes 3 types of initial activities, 32 types of core activities, and 4 types of final activities; 2) the learning outcomes of using the process skills approach through innovative teaching materials in learning the placement of pauses in pantun reach a minimum limit of 75.00.
